It is the sharpest annual rise for three decades, and analysts predicted next year's figures will be even worse. The US is a very young country, more like a social experiment! It is becoming just a casino, which consumes vast amounts of other countries oil-and most of the population just cant see it ,Because the system of economics in this country teaches people that debt / deficits aren't important; that you should spend more and save less. Keynsianism is a cancer, but unfortunately it's what we've embedded into our collective consciousness.

Abundance & the Future ~ Peter Diamandis

Chairman and CEO of the X PRIZE Foundation, Dr. Peter Diamandis, shared his research with top scientists, innovators, and captains of industry which reveals how progress is catapulting the world into a new era of abundance. While society tends to focus on negative news stories, and the idea that the world has grown worse over the years, we forget about the great advancements that have been made during the last century, he said. For instance, human lifespan has more than doubled, the average income for every person on the planet (adjusted for inflation) has more than tripled, and the cost of food has dropped 13 fold.

He outlined some of the amazing new technology and inventions that are coming down the pike, which could greatly improve humanity's situation: Dean Kamen's "Slingshot" technology can transform any type of liquid into pure drinking water for less than one cent per liter, urban "vertical farms" could replace traditional agriculture and eliminate transportation costs, and a medical "tricorder" type device would put the emphasis on preventative and predictive health care before people get sick. Diamandis also talked about his involvement in the Zero G Corporation, which provides flights in which passengers experience weightlessness.

Hancock reiterated his premise that technologically advanced societies existed on Earth as far back as 12,000+ years ago -- the end of the last ice age. He said these civilizations were lost when a gigantic comet collided with the planet, causing the ice sheets to melt and raising sea levels by more than 400 feet. As evidence, Hancock pointed out that large stone monuments, some as big as Stone Henge, can be found 120 feet below the surface of the ocean off the coast of Japan.

According to Hancock, the Mayan calendar may provide an ancient warning of yet another cataclysmic event -- this one set to occur within a 40-year window surrounding December 21, 2012. Hancock believes the consequences of this future catastrophe could be less damaging or averted entirely if we can learn to transform our consciousness.

Hancock also strongly advocated a person's right to explore his own consciousness by using substances found in certain 'sacred plants.' He detailed his life-transforming experiences taking an ayahuasca brew made from plants containing a naturally occurring hallucinogenic known as dimethyltryptamine (DMT), as well as talked about Dr. Rick Strassman's work with the substance. Almost everyone who uses DMT encounters the same beings and receives the same kind of messages, Hancock reported. He believes these commonalities show that the drug helps people journey into a real spiritual realm, and proves that our consciousness survives death.

He was also critical of Obama's "kill list," a list of individuals who are suspected of terrorism by the US and are listed for targeted killing after final approval by the US president himself.
