The 50% not in poverty are pitted against the 50% in poverty. The wealthy are defending their lifestyle at all costs, they're fighting tooth and nail. Good luck fighting without resources. Lots of defections and selling out in this time of desperation. They'd rather sell out their fellow man and live in comfort than fight injustice and struggle.
